So Sweet!

Eli and Knox are developing quite the bond. It's amazing how attentive Eli has become in the last few weeks, even days. He now goes through the house shhshing us when Knox is asleep. He loves to take toys to Knox if he is sitting in his bouncy seat. I took these pictures of them yesterday. It was actually Eli that leaned Knox forward so he could put his arm around him...I was so touched. This morning at church several of the nursery workers commented on how sweet Eli is to his little brother. He rushed over to kiss him a lot and seemed proud that Knox belonged to him. For those of you who know us well, we have come a long way!

Trajan...old friend

J went to visit our old pup Trajan on Sunday. He was our baby before we had the boys. We quickly learned that he needed much more attention than we could offer with two little ones. He is living like a King-even has his own swimming pool. We've been very fortunate to maintain a lot of contact with his new owners. He seems very happy!

Brothers

Only 7 pounds and 4 inches between these two!

These little boys are keeping their parents very busy! Wow-Eli is into everything and growing more jealous of Knox by the day. Knox continues to keep us entertained with all his conversation and laughing. He is such a happy baby, so easy going and easy to please. Eli kisses him a lot, but I think he just wants us to tell him he is a sweet boy, we aren't sure he intends to show his baby brother affection...
Knox is weighing in at 20 pounds. He is in all 6 to 9 month clothes. He is a big boy!
Eli still has very little to say to us. We are confident that he will begin talking very soon. J insists that we are not teaching Knox sign language-Eli asked for his shoes for 30 minutes on Sunday before J understood him....

Happy 4th of July

Our family had a great 4th of July. This is probably Jerrold's favorite holiday of the year. He is an avid Revolutionary War enthusiast and is a member of one of the largest reenacting regiments in the country. He even dug out his first "musket" from his childhood for Eli to take to the parade on Saturday. He can't wait for Eli and Knox to share his passion. Knox is actually named after Nathanael Greene and Henry Knox, two of the three original Revolutionary War generals. (The third was George Washington).
Jerrold even gave an interview to Fox 8 about liberty and freedom. You can check it out here. http://www.myfox8.com/wghp-story-fun-fourth-parade-090704,0,136786.story

Firetrucks and American Flags

Our neighborhood has a "flag-raising" tradition each 4th of July. I took Eli and Knox to see this on Saturday. Eli really enjoyed watching all the tricks of the firetruck. He even got to climb aboard afterwards and explore...Both boys are wearing their pajamas because they barely woke up in time for the festivities...

Beach Trip 2009

We were fortunate enough to join all of Jerrold's family at the beach last week. He has a big family so we had lots of extra hands to help with the boys. Eli LOVED everything about the beach. Knox enjoyed the view from his bouncy seat and a tent. We had a great time!

Father's Day & Birthday

J had a big Father's Day this year since it was also his birthday. He and Eli enjoyed several bowls of homemade vanilla ice cream...Knox isn't quite ready for ice cream.
