Nathanael Knox Simmons

Knox is here! We have been so blessed with another beautiful baby boy! He arrived at 6:32 last night, March 27th. He is definitely a big boy, weighing in at 9 pounds 7 ounces and 21 1/2 inches long. We can't wait to introduce him to his big brother later today! We are so grateful for all the prayers this week. God's hand was definitely upon us the entire time. We feel very, very blessed!

The Waiting Game

Eli has been a busy little boy....

Eli is enjoying the perks of Uncle Evan's police work. This week Uncle Evan gave Eli and his buddies police badges. He even turned on the lights and sirens when leaving the neighborhood!

Daddy and Eli had a picnic lunch in the front yard after all their yard work.

This is one of Eli's favorite "rides" right now. He loves steering through the neighborhood on the way to the park.

I guess he couldn't decide which toy looked the most appealing. His books are even more entertaining to sort...

We are anxiously awaiting the arrival of Eli's baby brother. We will be induced on Friday morning if he doesn't make a grand entrance on his own. I tried to buy him a "Big Brother" t-shirt this week but it seems they only make those starting in size 2T. Why is that?
These last two weeks have been so much fun with Eli. We have soaked up every minute with him...When I put him to bed tonight I was overwhelmed by how much I love him. I prayed over him that Jerrold and I will make decisions in the upcoming days that will help Eli adjust as best as possible. How could we love another little boy as much as we love him? Our family is in for a whirlwind of emotions...

Fun Times...

Eli eventually braved the tunnel on his own, but I did crawl through this at 9 months pregnant to encourage him!

Eli has really enjoyed his buddy Mac's company these past two days. Today we went to the park in our neighborhood and let the boys play. I was really surprised at how much Eli enjoyed the sandbox, tunnels, and steps. Sara and I got quite a laugh at their bath adventure. We were hoping to create a mini-nighttime feel for their afternoon nap.

Double the Fun

We have been searching for a good double jogger! Jerrold's Mom found an awesome "Baby Jogger" at her consignment sale last week. Thanks to Gramma and Paas we are now ready to walk, walk, walk, this summer with both the boys in tow. Jerrold, Eli, and I took the new stroller out for a test drive. We love it! Thanks Gramma and Paas for such a great gift!
Yes, Charlie, those are bunnies on my socks!

Too Cute!

Little Miss Blakely is four months old! We can't believe how fast she has grown. She got to spend a couple of days with Eli and I last week and we just ate her up! Isn't she adorable!

Checking out the Meerkat Exhibit
Feeding the goats all on his own

Rare shot of both these boys sitting still

Sara and I took the boys to the Natural Science Center today. All of the animals were out and about enjoying the warmer weather. We encouraged Eli to try to follow in Mac's footsteps and start walking. He doesn't seem to be that interested yet, still enjoying crawling and shuffling along beside the stroller. We braved ChickfilA for lunch afterwards and marveled at how good food used to be when you weren't trying to feed a one year old at the same time! We hope to continue all our outings when baby boy arrives...I'm sure we can tackle the challenge of 3 little boys together!
Sara and Mac, we sure do enjoy spending time with you guys!

Last days of just us 3...

We had a check-up yesterday at the Doctor's office. I am at 3 centimeters and about 50% effaced. This is further along than I ever reached with Eli so hopefully things will continue to progress. We tried to explain all of this to Eli but he didn't seem to want to listen...oh well, the reality of the situation will hit him soon enough.
